Dana Sorensen

Dana Sorensen has proudly served as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) for the City of Mountain Iron since 2024. In 2025 alone, she responded to more than 250 medical emergencies—bringing calm, skilled care to her neighbors during some of their most vulnerable moments.

Dana didn’t discover her passion for emergency medical services until her 30s. Like many people, she simply didn’t realize this career path was available to her. Once she found it, everything clicked. What began as curiosity quickly became a calling. Today, she considers it both an honor and a privilege to serve her community.

What Dana values most about her work is the connection. In a close-knit community, she doesn’t just answer calls—she builds relationships. She cares for neighbors, friends, and families, strengthening trust, compassion, and resilience within the community she calls home.

When she’s not serving as MIFD’s Number One Responder, Dana is homeschooling her four children, playing board games with her family, or unwinding in her hammock with her two beloved corgis. She is passionate about showing the next generation—especially young women—that it’s never too late to discover your purpose and step boldly into it.
