Judge Anderson
Judge Anderson has served as a District Court Judge in Minnesota’s 6th Judicial District since 2017 and was elected to continue serving through 2031. She made history as the first woman appointed as a District Court Judge on the Iron Range.
Judge Anderson hears all types of cases that come into the district court. She works closely with youth through specialized courts including the ICWA Court and females ages 14–17, with a review calendar and collaborative effort that focuses on growth, accountability, and empowerment. She serves as a tutor in area schools and presides over the Recovery Court.
Before becoming a judge, Judge Anderson spent over a decade as a criminal prosecutor and began her legal career as a law clerk. She earned her degrees from the University of North Dakota. Her two sons are currently attending UND. Today, she also serves as a mentor judge and works with judges to hone their trial skills. She is passionate about the law and mentoring young people and she is committed to supporting and uplifting the next generation of strong women.
