Shari McGregor-Overbye
Mining Solutions Specialist, Podcaster, and Mining Advocate. Growing up, residing in Mountain Iron, and having family in mining, it seemed to be a “no brainer” on where my path was to take me, but it wasn’t until several years after high school that I would discover this!
Graduating from MIB High school, Mesabi (now MN North College) in the Millwright program with a 2-year degree (which I later taught), as well as specialized training, and many other credentials along the way!
I have had the pleasure of performing welding and maintenance at several facilities that include mines, power plants, papermills, and wind turbines, just to name a few.
The last position I held prior to my current, was as a manager for United Taconite. First in the crusher, and then as the supervisor of the shops, that fabbed parts for the entire plant. I also managed construction workers to perform shut down tasks.
Now I help mining companies all over the country improve their crushing processes by maximizing machines and reducing downtime. By doing this they can run more efficiently, save money, and meet ESG standards.
With all of this you would wonder, what else is there? Well, PODCAST! Advocating for mining, educating others on necessary needs, and adding a little personal mix in just for fun.
